Become a member of the Jobs mailing list.

Before we post a job listing on the chapter Web site, we will send out a notice to chapter members who are subscribed to this mailing list.

It's also a cooperative venture: When one subscriber hears about a job, they can share that information with other chapter members on the jobs list.

"Why," you might ask, "would I tell others about a job opening when I want to be first in line?"

Good question, and here are some good reasons why:

• You hear of an employer or contract opportunity that needs more than one person
  
  
• You hear of a job that doesn't fit you, but which may be a good fit for someone else on the list
  
  
• Every time someone accepts a position that was not quite right for you, it reduces the competition you face for future openings for which you are both qualified
  
  
• That same employer or client might have future openings that are a better fit for you, and you'd like the person who gets hired for the current position to remember where the tip came from and return the favor

It just makes good sense to work together.

The list service is open to members of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the STC. To join the list, send an e-mail to majordomo@stcmidtenn.org with the text "subscribe jobs" in the message.

Then, when you hear of a job, send word in an e-mail to jobs@stcmidtenn.org. If you have questions, contact:
