September 21, 2006 Monthly Meeting

Attendees:
Judith Meyer
Judy Isenhour
Elaine Jackson
Emily Parker Hughes
Steve Brooks
Kathleen McDowell
Eileen Wollam
Stacie Baker

We had three guests - all from cities outside of Nashville metro area.

Chapter President Steve Brooks welcomed everyone to the meeting and announced the 2006-07 Board Members. We have open positions for Judging Coordinator and Employment Director.

Steve gave a summary of the chapter goals discussed at the August Board Meeting:

(1) Increase our cash inflow to allow for a larger budget;

(2) Increase attendance at meetings;

(3) Gain more members;

(4) Re-design the web site;

(5) Provide an archive of leadership documents.

VP - Programs Kathleen McDowell gave a summary of the membership survey. She will get the results posted to the web site.

Competition Director Judith Meyer gave a status on the Competitions and informed the members of the new "virtual" consensus meeting option. That is, judging teams may decide to meet via teleconference rather than in person for the consensus judging. Judith also mentioned that the Awards Banquet will be in January, closer when she actually receives the results from STC (November).

Membership Director Judy Isenhour brought a form for guests to complete. Members wished Judy "Happy Birthday" as she joined us on her special day.

Steve Brooks presented a very engaging program, "Are You Overwhelmed by Information Overload, or Cruising on the Information Highway?".

The food, company, and program combined to make our first meeting a success.
