Awards, dinner, and enthusiastic speaker
Contest winners honored

The April 24 meeting, which served as the chapter's annual awards banquet, attracted 20 members and a dozen guests to the Fifth Quarter.

Teams of writers and other professionals from HCA, Gallagher Financial Systems, and Tanner Corporate Services received awards for their entries in the annual publications competition.

The speaker, STC Fellow Fred O'Hara, collected lively applause for his perspective on the history and value of STC. A little later, the Oak Ridge science writer collected several awards for entries he submitted to the competition.

Unanimous approval
New chapter bylaws adopted

The chapter's new bylaws were approved during the April 24 meeting, with 20 members in attendance voting in favor and none opposed.

Copies of the bylaws are available online in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat formats. The bylaws will be submitted to the international headquarters for review and final approval.
